SEX POSITIVE THERAPY
Who We Are
At Sex Positive Therapy (SPT), we offer affirming, collaborative psychotherapy for individuals (18+), couples, multi-partner constellations, and families. We’re a team of sex-positive clinicians who believe therapy should be a place where every part of you is welcomed—your identities, your desires, your boundaries, and your relationships.

Our practitioners bring advanced training and lived experience in areas including LGBTQIA+ identity, polyamory and consensual non-monogamy, sex work, kink/BDSM, body image, and healing from patriarchy and purity culture. Everyone at SPT is part of the sex-positive community and brings multi-intersectional identities to their work, strengthening our commitment to truly inclusive care.

We’re here to help you feel seen, supported, and empowered—exactly as you are. Let’s begin your path toward growth and connection.

We are based in New York with offices in Manhattan and Brooklyn for in-person sessions. We also offer Telehealth in New York and North Carolina.

What is "sex positivity"?
Sex positivity is an attitude that regards all consensual sexual activities as fundamentally healthy and pleasurable. Sex positivity involves open communication about one's sexual preferences without stigma or shame and the non-judgmental acceptance of others' consensual sex practices, even if they differ from your own.

Commitment to Inclusion
At SPT, we work with individuals who may belong to one or more groups often labeled as “minorities” or “marginalized communities.” Our practitioners either identify with one or more of these communities themselves or have received additional training to support them effectively. A common thread among these groups is the experience of being labeled by others. At SPT, we encourage you to share your identity and the communities you belong to, so we can better understand your unique lived experience. If there is an identity or group not listed below, please let your clinician know during the consultation or intake process.
